Gudrun is a graduate of both Minnesota State University, Mankato and Bethany Lutheran College. Her degrees in social work and drug and alcohol studies led to her specialty areas of trauma, addiction, and mood disorders. She is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a form of therapy that uses eye movements and visualization techniques to rewrite negative or traumatic experiences with positive images and sensations, so they no longer trigger strong emotional reactions. Gudrun has worked in many recovery and counseling positions over her 21 years as a provider, including the last four at Open Door where she enjoys working with her Spanish- speaking clients. She was born in Peru and raised by bilingual parents, so she also learned English and Spanish at the same time. Gudrun is a proud mother to twin girls and loves traveling, theatre, working out at the gym, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
