Open Door Health Center Awarded Grant to Help Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Mankato – (January 25, 2021) – Open Door Health Center has been awarded a $3,000 COVID-19 outreach and communication grant by Mayo Clinic Health System. Mayo Clinic Health System awarded grants to five local organizations to help advance diversity, equity, and inclusion. Funding for these grants comes from Mayo Clinic’s EverybodyIN Fund For Change.

Mayo Clinic Health System and Open Door Health Center have developed a bond when it comes to helping people during the COVID-19 pandemic. “That’s kind of our specialty, reaching out to individuals who are underserved and the Mayo Clinic saw that and wanted to contribute to our efforts to educate the underserved populations about COVID-19.” Said Mandy Gault, Director of Marketing and Development at Open Door Health Center.

This grant will allow Open Door Health Center to specifically focus on providing COVID-19 outreach, education, and communication to minority populations. Helping advance diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout south-central Minnesota. “We are proud to be able to give our grants to people in the community, I think there are a lot of organizations doing really great work around diversity, equity, and inclusion.” Said Christi Wilking, community relations officer at Mayo Clinic Health System.
