Enrollment Clerk-Bilingual (Mankato, MN)

Open Door Health Center is looking for a full-time, bilingual candidate as an Enrollment Clerk. This position is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Enrollment Assisters/MN Sure Navigators. Provide direct assistance to clients and patients as directed or needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and perform the duties of reception and administrative duties in support of the enrollment team as directed by the department manager.
  • Schedule client appointments, including confirmation, cancellations and rescheduling.
  • Ensure clients complete the appropriate forms related to their appointment.
  • Ensure departing clients have appropriate information relative to their visit, re-appointment, insurance, etc.
  • Educate clients to the financial process and when appropriate, review options as determined by the Enrollment Assister.
  • Escort patients to the determined waiting area, appropriate care areas, and to the check-out area or exit.
  • Provide structured patient education on health coverage, engage in follow-up conversations and offer renewal assistance for enrolled individuals.
  • Be knowledgeable of ODHC services and the need to alert other departments’ staff as appropriate to assist patients/families in accessing needed resources.
  • Work together and cooperate with all staff for the best outcome for the patient.
  • Accurately provide required reporting to track goal achievement and client satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Formal education beyond high school.
  • Experience working in a community service organization or customer/patient service position.
  • Experience working with computers (MicrosSoft products and research through the Internet).
  • Experience working with a diverse population of people.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Somali is a plus.
