Emerging Leaders: Breaking the Cycle Poverty Simulation

February 4, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Check-in 11:45 AM. The program starts promptly at noon.

United Way has a NEW poverty simulation we’d like to share with our Emerging Leaders! Breaking the Cycle is an experience designed to raise awareness and understanding of the struggles faced by low-income families and individuals. Join us for lunch and this interactive lesson! Lunch Sponsored by Blethen Berens.

Without experiencing poverty, it is difficult to understand. Breaking the Cycle is an in-person interactive experience that promotes awareness, increases understanding and inspires local change. In the simulation, you are challenged to effectively manage your family’s monthly expenses on a limited budget. This brief, simple, but powerful experience develops a more complete understanding of the issues surrounding poverty.
