Purpose

To serve increased patient demand for integrated patient services that are affordable and accessible, Open Door Health Center (ODHC) leadership created a Master Plan for the building in 2009. Through federal, state, and foundation grants, the first phase of the project was completed in 2012. A subsequent federal grant award of $3.8 million has allowed ODHC to make significant progress on the Master Plan. Your contribution will help ODHC complete the facility renovation and expansion to transform the care ODHC provides to the community.

Need

The current capital project cost is $10 million and prior to the campaign, Open Door Health Center has received federal and private funding for $7.05 million of this project.

Building Changes

Phases:

There are two phases to the building project:

Phase 1—Dental Addition (right), completed in May 2012

Phase 2—Expansion and Remodeling for increased integration of medical, dental, and behavioral health care services for patients

 

The project includes the renovation of over 12,000 square feet the addition of approximately 8,000 square feet of new clinic space. This new space will allow ODHC to welcome 5,500 new patients at approximately 13,500 new annual visits. An expanded facility will allow ODHC to better serve patients and families who choose ODHC as their healthcare home. Other building highlights include:

  • Medical care suites (each includes medical exam & consult rooms)
  • Medical procedure room
  • Expanded laboratory capacity
  • Dental operatories including a dental teaching pod
  • Behavioral health consult rooms
  • A children and family therapy room with observation window
  • Community room
  • Approximately 18 new direct care staff to provide integrated medical, dental, and behavioral services to patients
